Ford 4.6l 3v & 5.4L 3v Camshaft Phaser Knocking Noise Fix, In this video I detail Camshaft Phaser repair on the 5.4l 3v engines but the procedure is the same for the 4.6l 3v engine.
Phaser Bolt:
Torque to 30 ft lbs then an additional 90 degrees.
The crankshaft is always being turned in a clockwise direction until the last positioning of the crankshaft in which we spin it counter clockwise 180 degrees.
Proper positioning of cam lobes for roller follower removal.
