1990 F150 5.0 V8 engine clanging.MPG, Hoping to diagnose the clanking noise coming from my 1990 Ford F150 5.0 truck. This started when I was driving on the freeway, then the engine died when I got off the freeway and stopped at a light. The engine will start and I can drive the truck as long as I do not let it idle too low, but this sounds like a serious problem so I will not be driving the truck until I have fixed this.
Any help on diagnosing and fixing this problem is greatly appreciated. btw, just running regular unleaded gasoline..
